Tucker’s earliest memory of enjoying finance was playing Monopoly with his family; he always wanted to be the banker. Tucker has been fortunate enough to be exposed to personal finance and good money management habits from an early age.
Going through the education system, he realized that many kids don’t learn about simple finances. He wants to make a difference, so decided to share his knowledge with others through this website. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, and is always willing to make a friendly wager on a match.
Mission Statement
No matter how old you are, you’ve probably heard your parents complain that our generation isn’t equipped to handle life on our own. They point to the school system’s failure to teach us fundamental financial lessons and principles. The truth is, they’re right. There is a major gap in the education system that needs to be fixed. Once you leave college, knowing the difference between animal and plant cells is helpful if you become a doctor or scientist, but it’s not going to prepare you to balance a budget or understand the stock market.
No matter who we are or what we do, we will always need to know about personal finances. According to well known business author Dave Ramsey, “you must gain control over your money, or the lack of it will forever control you.” Personal finances impact nearly every aspect of our life and determine the trajectory our future holds. Kick Start Finance is here to help young people succeed financially in high school, college, and beyond by making managing money relatable and accessible.
What We Do
Kick Start Finance is an educational tool/resource for kids looking to learn about finance. By providing approachable and relatable information to young people, we hope to better prepare the next generation to be financially independent. Eventually, we hope to expand our teaching to include a “finance fundamentals” handbook and host workshops for middle school and high school students.
